Mark Thomson,



Mark Thomson is passionate about creating healthy working and living environments. As an Ecological Architect and Sustainability Consultant he has gained a national reputation for the practical implementation of Ecologically Sustainable Development.

He judged the 2015 Australian Banksia Sustainability Awards Innovator of the Year category and in 2013 was an Expert Panel member in the international Katerva Awards, recognised as the Nobel Prize in Sustainability.QLD Property Council of Australia, Sustainable Development and Management Committee. He has a continuing role as a research Director at the Centre for Sub-Tropical Design and co-authored the book “The Environmental Brief – Pathways to Green Design”, published in London in 2007.

As President of the AUSTRALIAN GREEN DEVELOPMENT FORUM he encourages the uptake of Positive Development .Via his consulting business ECO EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS, he promotes CONSUMPTION EFFICIENCY and RESOURCE RECOVERY in practical demonstration projects. He is an Accredited Green Star professional, proficient in Green Globe + Green Star rating tools and has been responsible for writing various ESD guidelines and covenants.

Mark has lectured throughout Australia, tutored at QUT ,held the role as Adjunct Professor in the QUT School of Design and is a Faculty member of the GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA. He encourages young professionals to champion meaningful environmental business opportunities to transform our future.
