Chris Mahoney

Chris Mahoney is a Landscape Architect and Horticulturalist with a strong design and business background.

He is the Director of VERDé Design Group, having founded the practice in 2006 after senior roles with some of Australia’s leading Landscape Architectural Consultancies.

Chris is passionate about ensuring sustainability is not just considering the ‘green aspects’ and champions a holistic approach that considers the environmental, social and economic aspects of design and development to provide truly sustainable outcomes of long term value.

Chris has a combined 20 years experience in landscape construction, horticultural and landscape architecture and through his career has had the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of projects across many sectors.

He is focused on thinking beyond design to deliver holistically sustainable, innovative and successful projects of long term value and as a member of the AGDF Board enjoys working with like-minded professionals to champion sustainable practices whilst bringing a Landscape Architectural perspective.

Chris holds an Associate Diploma Applied Science (Horticulture / Plant Science); Bachelor of Built Environment (Landscape Architecture); Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture (Distinction); and is a Registered Landscape Architect with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA)
