Lex Dewar
Brisbane City Council

Lex is Manager of Built and Natural Environment at Brisbane City Council. In this role he leads a team of planning, design and engineering professionals delivering a diverse range of built and natural assets for the City of Brisbane.

Lex is a strong advocate for the adoption of sustainable design principles from the outset of any project and embedding this throughout the assets lifecycle. Since joining Brisbane City Council in 2002, he has been instrumental in delivering a number of projects that have received industry recognition for their environmental credentials.

He has lectured extensively at the Queensland University of Technology and industry forums within his area of expertise.

Prior to joining the Board of the AGDF he was immediate past Chair of the Qld Branch of the Facility Management Association of Australia and is currently regional liaison for the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Foundation.

Lex holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Built Environment), Post Graduate degrees in Industrial Design, Facility Management, Project Management and Business Administration and is a Certified Practicing Project Director.
